The Nitty Gritty
Starts: Monday, November 3rd (all participants must be clean-shaven no earlier than 5:00 the evening of Sunday, November 2nd).
Deadline for The Opening Shave is 12 noon on Monday the 3rd.
Trimming of the beard is at the discretion of the participant. We at the 2008 Winter Beard-A-Thon understand the need for employed participants to maintain a professional appearance. However, any trimming of length is strongly discouraged.
The Winter Beard-A-Thon will end on January 23rd, 2009
For one week following the end of the Beard-A-Thon (starting January 26th), we invite all participants to get creative and showcase their trimming abilities by adopting a facial hairstyle of their choice (i.e. mustache, goatee, period beard, etc.)
Throughout the course of the Beard-A-Thon, all participants are encouraged to use the official site www.beardathon08.blogspot.com to track their progress and share beard stories with their friends.
Please note: The Winter Beard-A-Thon is NOT a competition and no prizes will be awarded – the beard is your prize. Wear it with pride.
The ability to grow facial hair is a gift that should never be taken for granted. Sadly, some choose to suppress that gift. They claim, “it’s too itchy…” or “it’s too much work to maintain…”. Pish-posh! This is a chance to stick it out. Band together! Encourage one another! BE A MAN.
